My family goes back three generations in Port Fairy, and my wife Jelena and I are currently spooning food into a fourth generation while we make aeroplane noises. I work as a mental health clinician (social worker) and I try to apply the lessons of that work as often as I can in my decision-making for the people of Moyne Shire. What benefit will this decision deliver and to whom? Who misses out? How can we make it fair, and what does it mean for the future?
I have previously worked in real estate, hospitality, retail and education development. The common link is people. I love the natural landscapes here, the wildlife and the history, but it’s the people and their communities that inspire me.
Aside from all that, music feeds me creatively and surfing gives me space.

Cr Jordan Lockett's passion for Moyne Shire is driven by a deep connection to its people, environment, and unique sense of place.
His journey into local government began with concern for environmental protection, particularly the impact of waste leaching from a former landfill site into the ocean. Over time, that single issue broadened into a commitment to the entire region. He speaks enthusiastically about Moyne's creative spirit, thriving festivals, natural attractions, and the many hidden gems that make the shire distinctive. For Jordan, protecting the environment and celebrating the diversity of local communities go hand in hand.
Jordan hopes to see a prosperous and resilient Moyne where farming communities, local businesses, and the natural environment all thrive together.
He is passionate about improving environmental health, particularly the condition of local waterways, and ensuring future generations inherit a healthy and vibrant region.
