Roadside weeds and pest program (RWPP)

The Roadside Weeds and Pests Program (RWPP) provides eligible councils funding from state government to assist in the control and management of regionally prohibited, controlled, and restricted weeds and pests on rural roadsides.

Council is responsible for approximately 2,961km of roads within the Moyne Shire. Our key focus for the program is for early detection and prevention of invasive weeds in combination with asset protection.

Control plan

In early 2024, Agriculture Victoria endorsed the new Roadside Weeds and Pests Program Control Plan which will be implemented from 2023-2026. The plan includes priority species and targets for treatment throughout the shire and recommended methods of control.
