Creative Change Grants

Celebrating creativity across Moyne

We are proud to announce the recipients of the inaugural 2025–26 Creative Change Grants program.
This year’s funded projects span literature, visual arts, film, community engagement, and new creative practices — connecting people through creativity across the Shire.

Port Fairy Literary Weekend – Mentorship Initiative

Funding supports the launch of a new mentorship program connecting emerging and established writers across south-west Victoria, offering time, space, and professional guidance to develop new literary works and creative careers.

Volcanic – Group Art Exhibition at the Koroit Theatre

A short-term artist-led exhibition showcasing local artists exploring Moyne’s volcanic landscape through 2D and 3D works, activating the Koroit Theatre as a vibrant community arts venue.

Village Life – Fast Art Residency

A self-directed residency where artist the artist immerses in local life to create mixed-media works – combining interview, objects, sound and painting - culminating in a community exhibition celebrating creativity in everyday life.

Shelley Knoll- Miller - Graphic Recording Project

Supporting the establishment of a new graphic recording business, this project will see the artist create live illustrated recordings for local organisations and community groups while developing a web presence and professional portfolio. The initiative diversifies the artists creative practice and introduces this emerging artform to south-west Victoria.

Mortlake and District Creative Collective Pilot

A pilot project to establish and formalise a creative collective in Mortlake, with funding supporting professional mentoring, governance development, three business-artist collaboration pilots, and bi-monthly networking events that build connections and strengthen the local creative community.

Koritj – Tower Hill: Stories from a Volcano and the Belfast Coast

A feature-length documentary expanding on the award-winning short film about Koroitj (Tower Hill), weaving geology, ecology, culture, and art into a story of deep time, renewal, and resilience. Funding supports Indigenous artists Brett Clarke and Yaraan Couzens-Bundle, and the filmmaker, to produce a dedicated storytelling segment for inclusion in the final film.
