Community Asset Committees

The Local Government Act 2020 provides the capacity for Council to adopt Community Asset Committees to assist with facility use and management.

Nominations are now open for committees associated with several key local facilities, including

  • Koroit Theatre
  • Mortlake Recreation Reserve
  • Nirranda and District Community Facility
  • Southcombe Park
  • Victoria Park

Each of these venues play a unique role in supporting community life - providing spaces for sport, arts, events, meetings and social connection. By joining a committee, residents can have a direct role in shaping the future of these places, contribute to positive local outcomes, and build governance and leadership skills while working alongside Council and fellow community volunteers. Moyne Shire encourages anyone with an interest in supporting community facilities, volunteering or helping strengthen local participation to consider nominating.
