Works update

Open space

  • Targeted cape weed spraying in progress around Moyne (weather permitting)
  • Seasonal maintenance of garden beds in towns (cutting back)
  • Removing suckers on Peppercorn trees on main median strip in Mortlake
  • Lots of water in roadside grass verges prohibiting mowing - selective areas being mowed
  • New speed signs being installed at Grassmere (Grassmere Road and Staywood Road)

Construction

Six graders currently out on maintenance rounds with two additional grader teams handling service requests

Maintenance

  • Day-to-day operations for cleaners such as public toilets and BBQ facilities
  • Jet patcher and Flocon road repair teams working through service requests
  • Water over road signage installation as required

Emergency

  • Road closures on Mahoneys Road, Panmure due to washouts from heavy rain
  • With the first case of H5N1 bird flu detected in Victoria the public is being urged to report any sick or dead birds (or other animals showing signs of bird flu - land or sea) to the 24hr Emergency Animal Disease hotline 1800 675 888
  • The risk to human health remains low and there has been no detection in poultry or the wider agricultural industry
