Moyne Shire Council adopted a new four-year plan at its ordinary council meeting held in Mortlake on Monday 23 June 2025.
The Council Plan 2025-2029 is Council’s key strategic document, outlining key priorities, policies and strategies to support the aspirations of the community.
Moyne Shire Mayor, Cr Karen Foster said the community’s feedback underpins the intentions and objectives set out in the Plan.
“Informed by Council’s Community Vision 2040 and a number of community and partner engagement activities, the new Council Plan is a reflection of what’s truly important to the community and how we will continue to support the people of Moyne to be prosperous, healthy and to feel valued and connected,” said Cr Foster.
“The feedback received from the community during the consultation sessions has been an integral step in the development of the Plan and is the basis for delivering solutions that respond to local needs,” she said.
“The community have told us that areas such as the environment, economy and jobs, liveability and wellbeing, services and community facilities are important to support their aspirations.”
The Plan includes initiatives that embed requirements for Municipal Health and Wellbeing Planning, aimed at improving health and wellbeing outcomes.
“The new Plan focuses on two priorities: strengthening our foundations, by improving our asset management and delivery of services; and setting us up for growth, by doing long term planning and capacity building to position Moyne for success.”
“Shaped by the community, the Council Plan is the foundation for achieving our long-term vision, ensuring economic growth, sustainability and prosperity for the people of Moyne,” said Cr Foster.
