Creative Change grants to support new ideas

Artists, creatives, businesses, community groups and organisations are invited to apply for Creative Change grants from Moyne Shire Council, with applications now open for the 2026 program.

Offering grants of up to $5,000, the program supports creativity, experimentation and innovation across the Shire. Funding is available for new creative projects, concept development, collaborations, mentoring, skill development and other initiatives that encourage people to explore new ideas, develop their creative practice and contribute to a vibrant creative future for Moyne.

Mayor Cr Jordan Lockett said the grants were designed to encourage creativity and create opportunities for people to explore new possibilities.

"Creativity helps shape vibrant communities, and these grants are about giving people the opportunity to explore new ideas and grow their creative practice,” said Cr Lockett.

“Whether you're developing a new project, learning new skills, collaborating with others or trying something different, we want to support ideas that have the potential to make a lasting impact in our community."

The breadth of last year's successful projects demonstrated the diversity of ideas the program supports. Funded initiatives included VOLCANIC, a contemporary art exhibition at the Koroit Theatre; a documentary exploring the stories of Tower Hill; the development of a graphic recording business; a creative collective pilot in Mortlake; and a literary mentorship program for emerging regional writers.

"If you've been thinking about a creative idea you've always wanted to explore, I'd encourage you to apply. Some of the most exciting projects begin with a simple idea, and these grants are designed to help turn those ideas into reality.  Open your mind and let council be the wind in your sails."
