Moyne Shire Council has approved more than $48,000 in Community Assistance Fund (CAF) grants as part of round 2 of the 2025–2026 funding program, supporting local organisations to deliver priority upgrades, safety improvements and community‑led projects across the Shire.

Among the successful applicants are Kirkstall Hall and Cudgee Hall, both of which have secured funding after not receiving CAF support in the previous three years, helping ensure equitable access to funding for community facilities across Moyne.

Kirkstall Hall Inc will receive $5,500 to undertake a reverse‑cycle heating and cooling upgrade, improving comfort and usability of the hall and encouraging increased use during the winter months.

Cudgee Hall Inc will receive $4,620 to deliver critical roof repairs, addressing essential maintenance and improving the long‑term safety and sustainability of the building.

Mayor Cr Jordan Lockett said Council was proud to support community halls that play a vital role in bringing people together.

“Community halls are the heart of our towns. They host everything from meetings and celebrations to emergency response and social activities,” Cr Lockett said.

“We’re particularly pleased to support projects like the halls at Kirkstall and Cudgee, where this funding will make a real difference to safety, comfort and year‑round community use.”

Cr Lockett said CAF helps Council work in partnership with local volunteers to maintain and improve shared community infrastructure.

“These projects show the enormous value of small but targeted investments. By supporting essential repairs and practical upgrades, we’re helping community groups keep their facilities fit for purpose and accessible for locals and visitors alike.”

In total, 15 applications were assessed in round 2, with funding supporting capital works, equipment purchases and community‑strengthening initiatives across Moyne Shire.

Council’s Community Assistance Fund supports the development, upgrade and renewal of community facilities, equipment and programs, helping to build strong, connected communities throughout the Shire.
