Emerging musicians from across the region are invited to apply for Band Camp, a free 3-day music development retreat designed to help young artists grow their skills, build connections and develop their creative practice.

Band Camp will be held at Kangaroobie Camp, Princetown from 4-6 September 2026.

Participants will spend 3 unforgettable days immersed in music, taking part in hands-on workshops, creative collaboration sessions and networking opportunities with experienced industry professionals. Accommodation, meals and all workshop activities will be provided free of charge.

Mentors and industry professionals for the 2026 program will be announced through the Warrnambool City Youth and Moyne NextGen social media channels in the lead-up to the event.

The camp provides young emerging artists with the opportunity to refine their songwriting and production skills, collaborate with likeminded musicians and gain valuable insights into the music industry.

Mayor, Cr Jordan Lockett said that along with the workshops, participants will enjoy campfires, shared meals and informal jam sessions in a supportive and inspiring environment.

"Band Camp is about creating opportunities for young artists to learn from industry professionals, to hang out with other young musicians and take the next step in their musical journey," said Cr Lockett.

The Band Camp Project is a collaborative initiative between Moyne Shire Council and Warrnambool City Council and is funded through the Victorian Government's Amplify and Engage! programs.

Young musicians aged 16–25 from the region are encouraged to apply, with places strictly limited. Applications are open now.
