Customer Service Offices
Mortlake: from 3pm, Wednesday 24 December, reopen 9am Monday 5 January.
Port Fairy: from 3pm, Wednesday 24 December, reopen 8.45am Monday 5 January.
Kerbside collection
If regular collection is Thursday 25 December collection is now Friday 26 December
If regular collection is Friday 26 December collection is now Saturday 27 December
No change to collection dates for the week commencing Monday 30 December.
Extra recycling is being provided the week commencing 29 December 2025. On your collection day during this week, you can put out your yellow Recycling bin, green FOGO and red Landfill bins.
Waste Transfer Stations
Closed public holidays only 25, 26 December 2025 and 1 January 2026.
Community Safety
From 3pm, Wednesday 24 December 2025 community safety services will be reduced to urgent calls only such as livestock on roads and dog attacks.
There will be no collection of trapped feral cats or surrendered animals during this time, these services will resume on Monday 5 January 2026.
Maternal and Child Health Services
All Maternal and Child Health Centres will be closed from 3pm Wednesday 24 December 2025 and reopen Monday 5 January 2026.

Early Years
The Early Years enrolments and administration office will be closed from 3pm, Wednesday 24 December and reopen Monday 5 January.
Child Care
Port Fairy Child Care will close from Tuesday 23 December 2025 and recommence on Monday 12 January 2026.
Chatsworth Child Care will close from Tuesday 16 December 2025 and recommence on Tuesday 3 February 2026.
Hawkesdale Child Care will close from Wednesday 17 December 2025 and recommence on Tuesday 27 January 2026.
Kindergartens
Kindergarten programs will finish for the year during the week of 15-19 December 2025.
Port Fairy, Mortlake, Koroit and Merri Kindergartens will recommence from Friday 30 January 2026.
Hawkesdale, Macarthur and Nullawarre Kindergarten will recommence on Tuesday 3 February 2026.
Community Care
Office will be closed from 3pm, Wednesday 24 December 2024, reopen Monday 5 January 2026.
Essential services will continue to be delivered to clients during this period.
Port of Port Fairy
The port will be unattended from Friday 19 December 2025 through to Monday 5 January 2026.
Port Coordinator will be on-call on 0408 529 190 for enquiries and emergency callouts.
Mt Shadwell Quarry
The quarry will be closed from 3.45pm, Friday 19 December, reopening 7.30am, Monday 5 January 2026.
Caravan Parks
Port Fairy Gardens and Southcombe caravan parks open from 9am - 6pm every day
Mortlake, Yambuk, Killarney and Koroit caravan parks open from 9am - 5pm every day
Visitor Information Centre
Closed Thursday 25 December 2025 only.
Swimming Pools
Hawkesdale, Macarthur and Mortlake pools closed Thursday 25 December 2025 only.
Libraries
Koroit, Mortlake and Port Fairy libraries will close from 3pm, Wednesday 24 December 2025.
Port Fairy Library will open for the following hours during the Christmas and New Year period:
Monday 29 December: 10 am - 1 pm and 1.30 - 4.30 pm
Wednesday 31 December: 10 am - 1 pm
Friday 2 January: 10 am - 1 pm and 1.30 - 6 pm
Saturday 3 January: 10 am - 12 pm
All libraries will open with normal hours from Monday 5 January 2026.
