Moyne Shire Council is inviting residents, businesses, commuters and interested stakeholders to attend a community drop-in session in Port Fairy to learn more about the Gipps Street Bridge replacement project.
The session will provide an opportunity to meet members of the project team, view concept plans, learn about upcoming milestones, ask questions, and share local knowledge, concerns and suggestions.
Council is continuing to work closely with project partners to plan for and manage the potential impacts of the bridge closure. Representatives from local emergency services will also be available to answer questions about emergency access, response times and community safety.
Mayor, Cr Jordan Lockett encouraged community members to take advantage of the opportunity to speak directly with the project team.
"The new Gipps Street Bridge is a critical investment in our region's future, and we want to ensure the community is informed and involved as planning progresses," Cr Lockett said.
"This drop-in session provides an opportunity for people to ask questions, learn more about the project and share their insights, which can help with our ongoing planning and communication."
15-minute project briefings will be held at 4.15pm and 5.15pm, however attendees are welcome to drop in at any time during the session.
The community drop-in session will be held from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday 2 September 2026 at the Port Fairy Surf Life Saving Club Education Centre on Hughes Avenue.
Community members who are unable to attend can continue to stay informed through Council's project communication channels as the project progresses including the Engage Moyne website, dedicated project noticeboards, social media and newspaper notices.
