Council has undertaken a visioning process for the Port Fairy town centre to provide an up-to-date review of the various projects and initiatives that are already underway or proposed and to allow the community a chance to share their views and ideas around the current issues, opportunities and priorities for Port Fairy. The aim of this process is not to re-invent or disregard any of the work that has been done to date, but rather to provide a review and to establish a vision that pulls together all the different projects and provides a clear and exciting direction for the future of the Port Fairy town centre.
It is important to note that the Draft Place Guide is a starting point only - and is meant to be used as a discussion point and basis for further consultation and input from the broader community. It is not intended to limit other ideas, but rather is aimed at getting people excited and talking about the opportunities and sharing their own ideas. In this way the Draft Place Guide is intended to act as a catalyst for further discussion, and can be refined as part of ongoing consultation and as different projects come to life.
