Dreaming of performing at Port Fairy Folk Festival?

Here's your chance to make it happen

The Future Folk program returns to support emerging young artists and performers from south west Victoria In partnership with Moyne Shire Council, the Port Fairy Folk Festival is offering a unique performance and mentoring opportunity for up to ten talented young local musicians.

As a 2025 Future Folk artist, you'll work closely with established performers through hands-on mentoring, including group and one-one sessions, before, during and after the festival. Whether you're a singer, songwriter, musician, or band, Future Folk offers you the chance to develop valuable skills with industry pros and perform for a live audience.

Five-session mentoring program

Plus, two exclusive one-on-one mentoring sessions with professional artists.

Performance payment

All artists will be paid for their performance.

Eligibility and application details

  • Open to soloists, duos and bands aged 12 to 25 from south-west Victoria.
  • Applications close on 29 November 2024.
  • Successful applicants will be notified by 13 December 2024.
  • Attendance at a compulsory program overview session (held via Zoom) is required for all selected artists.
