Recycling and Waste

Recycling returns

Published 21/03/19

Household recyclables collected through your yellow bin will, once again, be processed for recycling and we no longer need to send any of this material to landfill.

Last month, EPA ordered council’s recycling processor SKM to stop receiving recyclable material until further notice at Coolaroo and Laverton.

Following this, SKM made the decision to voluntarily stop receiving recyclable material at Geelong.

Council has been advised that SKM has recommenced receiving recycling at Geelong.

Moyne Shire Council promotes waste minimisation and puts this into practice by offering residents responsible and sustainable ways of recycling and disposing of waste.

We encourage residents to reduce, reuse and recycle:

  • Reduce consumption – buy recycled products.
  • Re-use goods – hand on items you no longer need.
  • Recycle – place newspapers, plastics, and rinsed jars and bottles in your recycling bin.
