Who owns my music?

You do. At all times. You don’t sign any licensing agreement to be part of the Moyne sessions.

Will you automatically put my music on Spotify and other digital platforms?

No. We can introduce you to on-line distributors if you want your music to be available online.

What happens to the finished mixes and video clip of my music?

We will submit your music and video clip to our pathway partner Universal Music Group [Australia] for review and receive written feedback on your music that you then get. We also promote your music on the Montville Lane Sessions social media Facebook etc.

We submit your music to community radio Australia wide for programming.

Moyne Shire may also promote your music via social and standard media outlets.

You will receive digital files for your own use.

Can I record a cover?

Yes. However, the cover will not be submitted to our pathway partners.

What if I don't play an instrument but sing?

Bring along a friend, relative or music teacher that can play an instrument and accompany you during your recording.

What about music from Logic or GarageBand or MP3 backing tracks that I want to sing to?

No problem. For Logic and any programmes like Garageband or Ableton, you’ll need to export each track as its own file [called a stem] as a 48K mono .wav file. Before you export your stems please call David Blake 0400 488 974 to ensure the stems you provide will be technically correct. All backing tracks and stems are to be brought to your session on a USB drive or stick, for transferring to the Pop-up’s recording studio.

Do I have to attend the song writing intensive workshop?

No, it's totally up to you. However this is an amazing opportunity to hear from one of Australia's finest song writers.

What are MSL-Live gig events?

Every Pop-Up artist has the opportunity of being included on a Moyne Sessions live bill. Typically, three gigs a year in well-known and established venues. The artist gets paid for a 15-20 minute set and gets to perform live in front of an audience that's not just family. The gigs happen typically within the region that the artist lives.

What do I need to bring?

Only your personal instruments if you have them. The Pop-Up comes equipped with instruments - drum kit, guitars, keyboard and amps. If you want to use your own amp or pedal board no problem. You’ll also need to bring your own face mask and hand sanitizer and food/drinks.

What do I, or my parents/guardian need to sign?
