HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Course Overview: This course will equip candidates with the skills and knowledge to manage life threatening emergencies until professional medical help arrives. The course focus includes CPR, shock, bleeding, crush injuries, burns, fractures, sprains and strains, breathing and heart conditions, diabetes, seizures and envenomation. Formerly known as Level 2 First Aid.

Essential Course Information

Prerequisites
This course requires a reasonable level of physical fitness.
It is recommended that candidates are 14 years in the calendar year they undertake the course.
eLearning
No eLearning is required. Face-to-Face All training and assessment is delivered during the face to face training.

Course Competencies
Successful completion of this course will result in the issuance of the units of competency:
• HLTAID011 Provide first aid
• HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
• HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Validity Period
The Statement of Attainment is valid for a period of 3 years.
