2023 Moyne and Warrnambool Youth Awards

The Youth Awards recognise young people who demonstrate the values of Respect, Kindness, Resilience, Responsibility, and Passion. All community members – coaches, employers, teachers, peers, siblings, grandparents, mentors and so on - are invited to nominate young people they think are deserving of celebration.

Nominations will open Monday July 24 and can be made via our online portal or via hardcopy nomination form on request.

Awards Values and Criteria

The Youth Awards are divided into three age categories: 12-15 years; 16-18 years; and 19-25 years. In each age category awards will be given to nominees who have exemplified and demonstrated three of the following values through their efforts, attitude, behaviour and performance

• Cooperation
• Resilience
• Responsibility
• Kindness
• Passion

The Nomination Process

Nominations are made through an online application form. You will be required to supply nominee details including email address and contact phone number. Young people must be nominated by a community member.

We recommend that you discuss the nomination with the young person who is being nominated. Co-writing the nomination form with the nominee is encouraged.

Once nominations have been submitted, the nominee will receive an email and text message with instructions on how to accept their nomination.

The nominee must accept their nomination to be eligible for the award.

Eligibility Criteria

Nominees must be aged between 12 and 25 during the period July 2022 – August 2023

Nominees must either live, work, volunteer or study in the Moyne and Warrnambool municipalities.

Applicants who have moved due to study or work commitments are eligible to enter if they have lived, worked, volunteered or studied in the Warrnambool and Moyne Local Government Areas during 2022 - 2023

Emphasis is given to actions, behaviours and achievements that demonstrate the selected values during 2022 – 2023. The nomination can be supported by examples outside of this time period.
