| Information posted on 4 November 2009 | | A group of 10 young people from Mortlake are on a mission to do their bit for the community by making a special trip to Warrnambool tomorrow to donate blood.
Moyne Youth Development Officer Geraldine Ralph said the trip was the idea of Youth Councillor Emily Grant, who wanted to give blood and decided to rally fellow students at Mortlake P-12 College to come with her.
Ms Ralph said Emily had organised the trip, liaising with the Warrnambool Red Cross Blood Bank, signing up other young people from her school and organising consent forms for all the students.
“Emily then approached the Youth Council to support her quest to get the young people to Warrnambool and the Youth Council agreed to pay for a bus,” she said.
“Emily also approached her school to support the trip, which they have done by providing a teacher to drive the bus and supervise the trip. Emily has done a great job organising the whole trip and is to be commended on her efforts.”
The young people’s appointment at the Warrnambool Blood Bank is from 1pm to 3pm tomorrow, Thursday 5 November. | |
