| 3 November 2009 | | Local business Wordwiz Journalism, Copywriting and Communications has been appointed to undertake Moyne Shire’s tourism marketing for the next eight months.
Moyne Chief Executive Officer Brett Stonestreet said Koroit-based Wordwiz would provide tourism marketing services to Moyne Shire starting immediately up until 30 June next year.
Mr Stonestreet said Wordwiz’s key responsibilities would include implementing promotions, helping re-establishing a website presence and facilitating communication between the Council and the local tourism industry.
“We are really pleased to appoint a local business and look forward to working with Wordwiz over the next eight months,” he said.
“Wordwiz principle Tanya Waterson will work flexible hours to accommodate the requirements of the position. Mrs Waterson has marketing experience with business, government and non-government organisations, and has coordinated business awards and newsletters.”
Mr Stonestreet said the 2009/10 budget for tourism marketing was $70,000, which would include the engagement of Wordwiz, marketing initiatives and the development of a strategic marketing plan.
He said Mrs Waterson’s job would also include liaising with local visitor information centres, identifying new tourism opportunities, working on joint promotional activities with Moyne businesses, preparing marketing collateral and contributing to tourism publications.
Liaising with tourism bodies such as Tourism Victoria, regional tourism associations and regional and state would also be part of the engagement with Wordwiz. | |
