Reducing roadside fuel - Advocacy 2018

The St Patricks day bushfires had a devastating effect on property owners within Corangamite, Moyne and Southern Grampians Shires. The losses included 26 houses, more than 50 sheds and dairies and an estimated stock loss of 10,000 head.

As a result of the fires, local CFA brigades and community members have highlighted the need to reduce roadside trees that acted as an accelerant during the fires.

We seek support from whoever forms government to amend, promote and encourage the removal and replacement of dangerous roadside trees as a strategy to reduce fire fuel on Victorian roadsides.
