| NEW INDIGENOUS PLANTS OF MOYNE SHIRE BOOKLET NOW AVAILABLE! | | The Indigenous Plants of Moyne project was undertaken by the Council to give the community information as to what the Shire's vegetation looked like prior to European settlement.
There is very little remnant vegetation left in Moyne Shire today. The plant lists and maps on these pages provide information that will help with revegetation efforts and the protection of remaining areas of native plants.
To use this information, ascertain which area you are situated in from the Ecological Vegetation Classes Index Map above (a more detailed Index Map is listed below), then download the appropriate map and plant list zone/zones from the lists below.
The project was funded by Moyne Shire Council and the Victorian Government's "Tackling Weeds on Private Land" initiative. The Society for Growing Australian Plants, Warrnambool and District Group, provided data for the project.
Please note, these plant lists and maps may have some inclusions, omissions & inaccuracies that will be subject to revision.
Zone colours may alter slightly when maps are printed on colour printers, ie/ the blue and pink colours may become less distinct and harder to separate.
See the link at the top of this page for information on the new Indigenous Plants of Moyne Shire booklet now availble free to the public while stocks last. | |
