| Information posted 3 November 2009 | | Mortlake residents are being encouraged to comment on the town’s Urban Design Framework before the closing date of 16 November.
Moyne Chief Executive Officer Brett Stonestreet said the Mortlake Urban Design Framework (UDF) aimed to strategically plan for the future of the township and included suggestions for streetscape upgrades.
Mr Stonestreet said the UDF analysed specific issues and opportunities affecting Mortlake and provided a draft strategic framework that includes the vision and key objectives and strategies for the town.
The UDF also: Outlines an implementation plan that includes a draft master plan for Dunlop Street with an alternate plan developed by the Project Steering Committee also being exhibited as a possible option. Sets out the planning scheme provisions required to implement the UDF and the priorities and programs (including master plan cost estimates).
Mr Stonestreet said the UDF document can be viewed at the Council’s Mortlake office at 1 Jamieson Avenue, the Mortlake Newsagency and the Mortlake Telecentre, and can be downloaded by clicking here.
Residents have until Monday 16 November to make a written submission, which should be forwarded to the Manager Strategic Planning, Moyne Shire Council, PO Box 51, Port Fairy, VIC, 3284, or you can drop your submission into the Mortlake office. | |
