While Moyne Shire is mostly a healthy and happy place to live, work, and bring up a family, there are some things that affect the health and wellbeing of residents.
Council is working with other organisations to develop a new Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan for 2017-2021. This is a legislative requirement of the State Government, and we are seeking your involvement. The 2013-2017 Health and Wellbeing Plan can be viewed here(PDF, 2MB) .
Did you know that in the Moyne Shire:
- 54% of adults and 40% of children are obese or overweight?
- 14.8% of young people aged 20-24 are not engaged in education, training or employment?
- There are 5.2 per 1000 family violence incidents per year and rising?
- There are 18.2 per 1000 registered mental health clients?
We want to know what affects the health and wellbeing of you and the people you know.
Your input is valuable, so together we can work on building a healthy and sustainable community that supports the health and wellbeing of all its residents.
