Victoria Against Violence – 16 Days of Activism

This year marks the third anniversary of the State Government’s Victoria Against Violence —16 Days of Activism campaign commencing on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, 25 November and concluding on International Human Rights Day, 10 December. The initiative seeks to turn Victoria’s attention to the devastating impact that family violence has on the lives of so many.

Violence affects too many families in Victoria, and we all have a role to play in preventing violence in our community. We are seeking your involvement in the campaign by taking some small, simple actions to show your support. In 2017, our campaign themes are #putyourhandup #goorange and #freefromviolence – every Victorian can play a role in preventing family violence to help make Victoria a safe and equal society.

You can join the movement on social media using the hashtags #putyourhandup #goorange and #freefromviolence. Orange your world by wearing orange and displaying orange in your home, neighbourhood or workplace. Check out the range of community events happening during 16 days, or add yours!
