If you were unable to pay your 2017/18 rates by 31 May please settle your debt or contact our rates unit to discuss a payment plan that can be tailored to suit.

It's not too late to pay outstanding bills, and if you experiencing financial difficulties please contact council and avoid debt collection costs. Any payments made as a result of negotiating a repayment plan will also reduce the amount of interest being charged on unpaid rates.

If you are experiencing difficulty please contact us on (03) 5568 0555 or 1300 656 564.

Unfortunately, non-payment of rates eventually leads to extra burdens on all ratepayers. For this reason, Moyne Shire will undertake to recover unpaid rates firstly through the issuing of a final notice and then through other debt collection means.

The most important step to take in dealing with difficulties in paying rates is to contact council. Every effort will be made to ensure that a suitable payment arrangement can be developed.

Costs relating to debt collection can be avoided by negotiating a repayment plan that is affordable and realistic.
