Port Fairy Folk Festival 2018 - Road Closures

To permit the holding of the 2018 Port Fairy Folk Festival, Moyne Shire Council advises that a restricted access road closure (i.e. resident access only) will apply to the following sections of road:

Council also wishes to advise that it will be closing off the parking bays adjoining Fiddlers Green in Bank Street and Sackville Street and the parking bays adjoining the Port Fairy Sea Scouts building in Bank Street from 8am on Friday 9 March to permit setup of the stage area and to separate concert attendees from passing traffic.

Permits will be required for vehicles to enter these areas and all homeowners and shop/proprietors directly affected must obtain a permit from the Moyne Shire Office, Princes Street, Port Fairy by 4pm on 9 March 2018 if they have not already been supplied.

Food premises wanting to place additional tables and chairs on the street that are not already covered by an existing permit must apply to Council for a permit.

All street trading must cease by 9pm and street furniture removed by 10pm each day. The street must be cleared by 2pm on12 March 2018.

It is to be noted that the alcohol ban in the specified area of Port Fairy will be policed and enforced. Parking infringement notices will be issued where parking is causing an obstruction to driveways, fireplugs, and emergency access points and in areas where permits are required.

Council advises that in accordance with General Local Law, camping is prohibited on roads and reserves in the Moyne Shire unless the area is registered as a caravan park. This Local Law will be policed during the Folk Festival weekend including on the Railway Land.
