Outdoor pools across Moyne Shire are preparing to reopen for summer, with plenty of fun in store for all ages over the warmer months.

The Hawkesdale Pool began their season on 23 November, with Mortlake Pool reopening on 30 November and Macarthur Pool on 7 December.

Moyne Shire Council Manager of Cultural and Community Development, Jacquie Anderton said the pools were in great shape following a program of maintenance that was carried out during the colder season.

“The pools are looking great and I’m sure as the weather continues to heat up, there will be plenty of activities at all three pools,” Mrs Anderton said.

“At the Hawkesdale Pool this year, youngsters will get to enjoy a range of new inflatable equipment including an aqua run and other large ride-ons.

“The Hawkesdale Committee were successful in gaining a $4,500 grant through Council’s Community Assistance Fund in July to put towards purchase of the new inflatables.

“The pool will now be able to host inflatable days providing local kids a great day out, particularly during the summer school holidays.”

This season the pools will be open until the middle of March 2020.
