Pet registrations due Monday 10 April
Published on 05 April 2017
Pet owners are reminded that their animals’ registration renewals are due by Monday 10 April 2017.
The registration process is a requirement under State legislation for all dogs and cats aged over 3 months.
Pet registration is part of being a responsible pet owner and keeping your pets’ registrations up to date can help ensure the safe return of your pets if they are found wandering.
Council offers significant discounts to register pets that are desexed and eligible concession card holders also receive discounts. By ensuring your animals are desexed, you’re also helping to prevent unexpected and unwanted breeding, which reduces the number of stray animals.
Registration renewals occur annually in April, however new identification tags are not issued each time that registration is renewed.
All newly registered dogs and cats, regardless of age, must be microchipped.
