Norfolk Island Pine branchlets - collection
Published on 04 July 2017
Norfolk Island Pine branchlets will no longer be collected on request from properties in Port Fairy.
Residents are encouraged to utilise their green (organics waste bin) for the disposal of branchlets.
At its May 2017 Ordinary Council meeting, Council resolved that branchlets will only be collected by Council staff at quarterly intervals each year.
Collection dates will be as follows:
- First week in March (prior to the Labour Day long weekend);
- First week in June (prior to the Queens Birthday long weekend);
- First week in September; &
- First week in December.
Residents wishing to have Council staff collect branchlets are encouraged to rake up/stockpile branchlets one week prior to the collection.
Responding to the many requests to collect the branchlets has become an extremely time consuming task for Council staff which is impacting on usual services such as mowing, tree trimming and general township maintenance.
