Moyne to Host Community Listening Posts
Published on 12 February 2020
Residents will have the opportunity to talk to their local Councillors about what matters to them and their community as Moyne Shire kicks off the first of its new Listening Posts this month.
Councillor Listening Posts will be held monthly at different locations across the Shire, providing the community with easier access to speak with their elected Councillors.
Moyne Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Meade said Councillors wanted the opportunity to engage directly with residents on local issues and get a better understanding of the things that matter in the community.
“Council wants to ensure we are providing the services and support the community needs,” Cr Meade said.
“I encourage the community to drop in at the Listening Post as it is a great chance for us to meet local residents for an informal chat and find out what’s happening in your local community.
“It’s also an opportunity for us to update you on Council projects, decisions and activities.”
The first monthly Listening Post will be held at the Macarthur General Store on Tuesday 18 February, 11.30am – 1.30pm.
