Moyne Shire to host Toy Story and The Magic Pudding

Published on 18 December 2017

Port Fairy’s summer movie program is here again, and Moyne Shire is throwing its support behind the school holiday tradition by sponsoring two free screenings.

The council will kick off the film season with an outdoor showing of Pixar’s landmark CG-animated family favourite Toy Story on Fiddler’s Green on Thursday 28 December.

The shire will also host the final film of the program with an outdoor showing of the animated Australian adventure The Magic Pudding on Australia Day at Fiddler’s Green.

The outdoor screenings, which take place at sunset, are weather dependent and are a component of the 70th year of the Moyneyana Festival. What better opportunity to grab a blanket and some popcorn and enjoy a movie under the stars with family and friends.

Moyne Shire is happy to support the summer movie program, which is facilitated by the dedicated volunteers of the Port Fairy Film Society and has been running for many years.

The society will be showing family-friendly films and blockbusters at the Reardon Theatre on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, as well as Sunday afternoons, from Tuesday 2 January to Thursday 25 January.

The line-up includes the latest Marvel superhero actioner Thor: Ragnarok, the long-awaited sci-fi-noir Blade Runner 2049, the trilogy ending War For The Planet Of The Apes, the latest Pixar hit Coco, the DC Comics blockbuster Wonder Woman, and the acclaimed car-heist movie Baby Driver.
