Moyne Shire Council is developing a new four-year plan to improve health and wellbeing in the municipality and wants the communities input.

Moyne Shire Council would like to hear the community’s opinion about the following factors.

  • Social connection and inclusion
  • Healthy lifestyle (physical activity and diet)
  • Lifelong learning and education
  • Family violence

Mayor Cr Jim Doukas said that the Shire was in a unique position to influence better health and wellbeing outcomes for the community, through initiatives ranging from direct services through to advocacy to higher levels of government.

“The identified issues are big community-wide themes, but our plan will look at them through the eyes of local government.

“Our plan will detail how the community will be involved and how the plan will be implemented in partnership with relevant agencies.

“I encourage everyone to take part in the community consultation to help us formulate a better plan.”

The public consultation takes place until Friday 28 July.
