FOGO bins burn up the track at the Daschund Dash!

We're always looking for new ways to get the message out there that your 'green' bin is really a super-powered, environmentally-friendly super-bin known as a FOGO - that's Food Organics/Garden Organics.
So over the long weekend, we organised a FOGO bin race that we called the Formula FOGO, as a curtain-raiser to the famous Port Fairy Daschund Dash (and a big thank-you to the Winter Weekends people for smiling through the whole thing!).
Eight bins, eight willing adults and eight helmeted kids as pilots...well, seven as it turned out, and the winner streaked across the line with an empty bin. Protest!
A massive crowd, estimated at 3,500, roared with excitement in the frosty June sunshine as these magnificent competitors hurtled down the straight. Well, they progressed down the - okay, they lumbered down the straight.
Remember, if you're a fan of high-performance waste disposal, you can put your food scraps including meat and bones, as well as animal droppings, into your little Moyne Shire caddy bin (there's a new delivery of compostable green liners coming soon), and drop the tied-up bags in your green FOGO bin. 'Green' doesn't just mean garden clippings!
