Corellas causing damage in Port Fairy
Published on 06 February 2018
Council has made no decision regarding the culling of Corellas that are causing damage at Southcombe Park in Port Fairy.
A motion to apply to the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning for a permit to eradicate corellas at Port Fairy’s cricket ovals was defeated at the January Ordinary Council Meeting.
Council has been working with the Port Fairy Cricket Club for many years to provide a solution to the damage caused by Corellas. This includes the purchase and use of a gas scare-gun in 2013.
Council staff are preparing a report to Councillors indicating all available options.
Councillors will make a decision regarding the management of Corellas at a future Council meeting.
