Bill Millard appointed as Moyne Shire CEO

Moyne Shire Council is pleased to announce the appointment of its new CEO, Bill Millard. Mr Millard will take up the CEO role on 15 October 2018.

At the August Ordinary Council Meeting, Councillors unanimously resolved to appoint Mr Millard following an extensive recruitment process facilitated by an external recruitment agency.

Moyne Shire Mayor Cr Mick Wolfe said that he was pleased that the search for a new CEO has ended with the successful appointment.

“Bill has the experience, skills and qualifications to help guide the organisation on this important journey. He also understands the challenges facing rural communities. He has a passion for community development and the business skills to ensure we remain on the right path,

“He has held leadership and management roles within the South West Victoria and is experienced in dealing with the unique challenges our regional community faces,” said Cr Wolfe.

Mr Millard is currently the Director Strategic Development at Hobson’s Bay Council where he is responsible for city planning and development services, economic development, tourism services, and community engagement. Mr Millard has also held roles with Glenelg Shire and Warrnambool City Council. 

Mr Millard said he was looking forward to working with Councillors and staff to quickly learn as much as possible about Moyne Shire and opportunities and challenges ahead. 

 “I want to visit and hear about the many aspects of the Shire and spend time with community members to understand their needs and aspirations.”
