ANZ Bank Koroit

Moyne Shire Council is disappointed with the news that the ANZ Bank plans to close its Koroit branch on 12 July 2017.
The ANZ is the only bank to have a branch in Koroit, a town and surrounding district that has an estimated population of close to 4,000 people.
Moyne Shire Mayor Cr Jim Doukas said the announcement was both saddening and unexpected.
“Koroit is a vibrant country town with a growing population and prosperous businesses.
“The Koroit community has been served by the ANZ bank for a long time and this closure will cause a great inconvenience to that community.”
The loss of any service is a blow, but the loss of a bank in a town the size of Koroit is particularly sad, said Cr Doukas.
“I feel sorry for the community that has used the service for so long and hope that no staff from the branch will lose their jobs.”
